1998 - 450 sq.ft.
A completely blind room installation. A safe obstacle course and tactile-designed objects were designed to be navigated without any sight. Found object, fake fur, hanging plastic, textured rubber, wood frame, sound recording, and heated aromatic oil installation. An attempt at completely non-visual art, 'Grandpa's Forest' was designed to be specifically experienced by all senses other than sight. All light sources were completely and meticulously sealed so that once the doors were closed, nothing could be seen by a person with perfect vision and their eyes wide open. It was a completely pitch black room full of objects, raw material and ultimately, utter fear and pure enlightenment.
